Hideaki Sato
Chef at Ta vie
He is co-owner and chef of restaurant Ta Vie旅, in Central, Hong Kong.
Born in Nagano, Japan, this area has emerged as one of the most vibrant areas of the Japanese wine scene.
With over 10 years of experience in French cuisine in Japan, he joined Tokyo’s famous three stared Japanese restaurant Ryugin before he was choosen to head their first overseas branch ,Tenku Ryugin in Hong Kong. Under his management, Tenku Ryugin was awarded two Michelin stars after 6 months of its opening.
In 2015, he opened his own restaurant ,Ta Vie 旅 ,where he applies Japanese cuisine philosophy to French cuisine ,and features Asian ingredients and Asian wines. Sato also has sommelier licenece of the Japan Sommelier Association. His restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in late 2015, and made it to the coveted Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2016.
